General Implement Distributors

The General Implement Division has been actively wholesaling farm machinery since 1938. Starting in Salt Lake City, Utah, GID now carry's an expansive inventory in six locations with distribution in 16 states. At each branch you will find an experienced sales staff willing to go the extra mile with our Silver Service® guarantee standing behind our equipment. 

General Implement represents over 40 foreign and domestic wholegoods lines and 55 captive and will fit parts lines in our sixteen state territory composed of 800 dealers. General Implement Distributors has 717 dealers from the Pacific Ocean to the Mississippi/ Alabama border.

General Implement’s History

1929 - Arnold Machinery Company was founded by L. E. “Doc” Arnold.

1938 - Ray Arnold, “Doc’s” son joins the business and they enter the Agricultural Business.

1952 - General Implement is formed.

2001 - General Implement buys S&W Farm Equipment in Portland, Oregon.

2003 - General Implement purchases Countryside Marketing in Billings, Montana

2006 - General Implement buys R.M. Wade Co. in Portland, Oregon.

2011 - General Implement purchases West Country Products in Jamestown, North Dakota.

2013- The Portland General Implement branch moves from Beaverton to a location near the Portland airport.

2015 - General Implement purchases Alliance Distributing, Inc. in Waco, TX.
